IDI Wins Deal of the Year, Outstanding Building Awards from NAIOP Tampa Bay

Tampa (December 19, 2008) -- IDI, a full-service industrial real estate developer, has received two awards – Deal of the Year and Outstanding Industrial Building – from the Tampa Bay chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). The awards were recently presented to IDI at NAIOP’s “Best of the Best” program.

IDI won Deal of the Year for its 147,197-square-foot lease with American Tire Distributors at Madison Business Center and the Outstanding Industrial Building award for Madison Business Center Building E.

“IDI is proud to be honored for our lease with American Tire and for our first project in the Tampa market,” said Scott Helms, senior vice president and regional development officer for IDI in Florida. “Tampa is an important distribution center and IDI looks forward to establishing a major presence in this market for years to come.”

In closing the deal with American Tire – IDI’s first signing in Tampa – the entire Madison Building E was pre-leased prior to the completion of construction. The lease allowed American Tire Distributors to triple its capacity in Tampa.

The award acknowledged the deal team of Larry Dinner, vice president of leasing at IDI, and Rick Narkiewicz, first vice president, at CB Richard Ellis.

The Outstanding Industrial Building award recognized Madison Building E for its strategic logistics benefits, which include the building’s 30-foot clear height, deep truck court and wide column spacing, and its direct access to Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 75. IDI entered the Tampa market with the purchase of a 60-acre parcel that will accommodate five buildings totaling nearly 1 million square feet at the master-planned Madison Business Center site.
