IDI Named NAIOP Georgia Developer of the Year

Atlanta, GA (December 8, 2008) -- Atlanta, December 10, 2008 – IDI, a full-service industrial real estate developer, has received the Development Firm of the Year Award in the industrial real estate category from the Georgia Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). The award was presented to IDI December 4 at the NAIOP Georgia Chapter’s 20th Annual Awards Program held at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.

The award, covering activity over the past 18 months, recognized IDI for its ongoing sustainable development practices, as well as its service to the metro Atlanta community and Georgia, innovation in development and involvement in the NAIOP chapter.

“As a long-time NAIOP member with strong roots in Georgia, IDI is proud to receive this award,” said Jay Mitchell, senior vice president and regional development officer in IDI’s Atlanta regional office.

“IDI has always been committed to doing business in a way that benefits both the real estate community and the community at large. Our sustainable development initiatives and outreach to charitable organizations are a large part of that mission.”

In the past 18 months, IDI developed two facilities totaling 1.2 million square feet designed to receive LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification – 744,331-square-foot Westpoint at Riverside Building A outside of Atlanta and 502,854-square-foot Tradeport East Business Center Building A in Savannah. In addition, a 559,000-square-foot facility at Jefferson Distribution Center, IDI’s newest business park in the Northeast Atlanta submarket, will be designed to receive LEED certification, as will a 195,000-square-foot building at Hamilton Mill Business Center in Northeast Atlanta.

In September, IDI’s Meridian 75 Logistics Center project outside of Macon received a Deal of the Year award from the Georgia Economic Developers Association for its anticipated economic impact and its innovative financing.

The company also was recognized for its commitment to charitable causes. IDI’s corporate office in Atlanta and regional office in Norcross, Georgia, combined to donate $350,734 to various charities, and held two charity golf tournaments that raised more than $200,000 for organizations benefiting children’s health and literacy.
