IDI Charity Golf Classic Supports Three Atlanta Charities
Atlanta, GA (October 31, 2008) -- IDI, a full-service industrial real estate company, held its second-annual Charity Golf Classic October 28, raising $110,832 for three charities that benefit children’s health and literacy: The Study Hall at Emmaus House, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, and Vision Atlanta. The tournament took place at the Piedmont Driving Club Golf Course.
“Our charity tournament was a great success for the second consecutive year. Once again, we received fantastic support from our sponsors, and we’re proud to contribute to organizations that do so much to enrich the lives of children in our community,” said Lisa Ward, vice president of leasing in IDI’s Atlanta regional office.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to:
- The Study Hall at Emmaus House. This school offers year-round academic and enrichment programs to help at-risk children in kindergarten through eighth grade who live in the Peoplestown neighborhood of Atlanta.
- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding. Based in downtown Atlanta, this organization provides children and their families outreach services, education, treatment and intervention programs.
- Vision Atlanta. The organization supports Camp Grace, a summer camp south of Atlanta that will ultimately serve 3,000 at-risk youth.
IDI underwrote the cost of the event, and 100% of the proceeds raised were donated to the three charities. The three primary sponsors of the tournament were: Alston & Bird (Gold Sponsor), First American Title (Silver Sponsor) and Peachtree Planning Corp. (Bronze Sponsor). Twenty seven additional sponsors helped make the event a success.
